Battlestar Galactica re-watch

I'm doing a Battlestar Galactica re-watch \o/ It's for a class I swear :) On the one hand: YAY! On the other hand: ///o\\\\ FEELS! which may make analysing for a 5000 word essay hard.

I LOVE this show to pieces, but I was never very aware of fandom or criticism while it was airing. I'd love to be linked to good resources: fic, vids, meta, articles, etc. Thank you.

Cyborganize wrote some good stuff on BSG in her diss. In fact, she had an entire BSG themed queer feminist cyborg wedding this past August. Pretty great :D

I love the first season pretty unreservedly! I have seen the mini-series + S1 a million times. The flaw in this great essay plan is that I have so far refused to watch the final 10 episodes.

BSG was a side-fandom of mine in its last season or two! Here are the bookmarks I still have floating around.

Going Native (and it's sequel, Going Forward) by rapfic This is long fic and has at its core that notion that Gaeta was a Starfleet Officer stranded in the colonies by a freak wormhole and had to 'go native'. Only now the survivors of the end of everything have discovered the Enterprise and by extension, the Federation! SO MUCH CROSSOVER (including my favourite flavour of Lwaxana) and a lot of really thoughtful meta about the nature of the two shows and how they deal with conflict and violence and peacekeeping.

For Our Own Benefit by smercy Or, the one where the fleet passes by Dagobah and the disturbance to the force is mighty. Great outside perspective on the fleet.

Like Never and Like Always by ladybugkay. This series of fics was never finished, but is so fucking good I'm reccing it anyway. Kara&Karl backstory, building off of the actors' canon that the two were old friends.

Bcc: by bitter_crimson. Okay yeah, this one's straight up kinky f/f porn. Sorry not sorry.

Sadly, my favourite meta writer/picspamer has deleted and purged under the name zie was using during that era, or I'd rec you to those works in a heartbeat.
