It's brilliant! Not that I expected anything else from you but still. It makes me so happy to have all of it recorded.

I was especially pleased to see you incorporate cee_m's recording into your larger work. It's a great podfic and it was a super classy thing to do. Collaboration is awesome and I hope it brings more listeners to both of you; you really deserve it.

It's no secret I get a little attached to your podfics. This will be right up with my favorites.

Thanks for the compliment, I love cee_m, it helps that the podfic was from a different perspective, so I thought I managed to fit it in (mostly) seamlessly. I must admit being 'classy' was not on my mind, I was simply trying to create the most listener friendly format possible. I am so pleased that I managed to put the whole 'verse in one podbook.

It's taken far too long for me to come on over and comment on this, and for that I apologise, but I have to say I found this all kind of overwhelming (in the best possible way). I'm still kind of beside myself that this even EXISTS, that this incredibly long, crazy 'verse has been recorded in it's ENTIRETY, you know?

These stories and this verse are so close to my heart and they mean so much to me, I was actually a little afraid to listen to the podfic in case I didn't like it, or I couldn't connect with it, because I so, so wanted to. The thing is, once I started listening, I couldn't stop and hearing back the words I'd written, which were so familiar and yet NEW because I was hearing them in your voice and your interpretation of them, and it could have been scary or weird but it was just really GOOD.

God girl, I love this. I don't know if it's narcissistic to admit, but I know I'll be listening to it again and again and I love that the story exists out there in this way and I'm so grateful that you put in all this time and effort to make this happen (and so many versions, omg, AND a soundtrack). Wow. What an achievement. I know you didn't record this for me, that podfic is not about the author, it's about the story and the love, but I still feel really blessed that you did and I'm so happy it's out there and I hope you get all the appreciation in the world for this, because it's just so fucking well done.

And can I just say - holy shit the MUSIC you chose? Is incredible. The mixes that were made for JCGIW have become the soundtrack to this fic in my mind, so I was worried when I noticed that you'd chosen mostly songs that weren't from those mixes to track the podfic with. I will proudly admit I was wrong and I love all your music choices so much. OMG your choice and placement of Roadside gave me fucking goosebumps and I'm getting a little teary just remembering it. I could name them all, but they are all so perfect, and it was such an awesome experience to go from hearing the familiar words of the fic, to these pieces of music whiche were NEW and where the lyrics were SO fitting and SO perfect, it just took my breath away.

Thank you so much for this. This is truly epic and I'm over the fucking moon with it.

\o/ I am overwhelmed by this comment. I'm so pleased that I got to put this all together, and the completeness is amazing. It was brilliant to record, thank you for writing something so fun and interesting to perform. I am really pleased that you were able to connect with the podfic, and that you feel that the podfic brought something new to the story. While, yes, the podfic wasn't for you, knowing that you listened and enjoyed means a huge amount to me. You're writing was inspiring.

The music was difficult, because I did listen to the mixes made specifically for the story and a lot of it was really good stuff, but nothing quite clicked. In the end I ignored 'shoulds' and went with my gut. It would have been hard to not use Rise Against when this was the first podfic I've made where they felt appropriate (favourite band, music seems to fit with nothing).

Thank you for leaving this really thoughtful and in depth comment. Knowing you approve and are pleased with the podfic is the perfect icing on the metaphorical podfic cake :D
