This is NOT a concert recap, mostly because I'm terrible at them, and also because [livejournal.com profile] ladyfoxxx got mostly everything down that I would have thought to mention! YAY!!! So, go read that.

I got to meet awesome fangirls which is brilliant! My family thought I was insane to go meet people I'd never met, but it was totally worth the anxiety before hand! \o/ I'm going to thank [livejournal.com profile] jenepel for being awesome and helping to organise me.

Panic! gave an excellent performance. There was no nakedness despite the extensive attempts at telepathic suggestion by every fangirl present I'm sure. However, there was two back flips and Spencer spoke! Also, apparently they are going home to make 'NEW MUSIC!'

It basically reaffirmed all the things I already know.

1) Spencer Smith is flawless!

I basically spent the entire show manoeuvring myself so I could keep my lovely Spencer view. The black shirt look is totally working for him. He makes the drumming look effortless and occasionally when the other guys came up to talk to him he'd flash his smile, and its power was palpable from where I was standing (very far away).

2) Ian can play the guitar like a motherfucker.

Seriously, we all know he's amazing, but he just rocks the fuck out. As much as I love it when Brendon is dancing around and being insane, having him play guitar too leaves Ian free for some awesome moments (that I wish were on the actual record). I am really hopeful for the next album, with Ian inspired guitar parts (HOPE).

3) Dallon is lovely.

I thought I have more to say about him, but I don't. He looks great and seems to enjoy playing a lot. They did the Dallon/Brendon moment in 'Sins', which was nice to see, I'd love to know why they chose that song to do it in though, maybe it's because Brendon's so bored of that song he needs to keep it interesting.

4) Brendon has an amazing voice (but should never speak).

I suppose it's because of the current culture for excessive auto-tuning, and the fact that most recent concert footage is kind of terrible, but I wasn't quite prepared for how AMAZING he would sound live. I mean Live in Chicago is awesome, but the difference is astounding! He has this way of pulling out the note and holding it and still retaining its power and emotion. I have some skills, but I could not hold the notes as long as he could by half. He also managed to carry the whole stage with 'Always' which is impressive - he dedicated the song to the fans, which was nice of him.

I am of the opinion that basically no one should ever cover Led Zeppelin and if they do, they need to be SO prepared for my scorn and hate, but Panic! pulled it off so well. Maybe it was their enthusiasm, or the fact that it seemed impromptu. Brendon was like: 'hey Ian I was thinking about your tattoo ... give me some Zep'. Ian just launches into it and the rest just followed. It was kind of beautiful.

A few random things.
- No matter how many times you tell me Brendon, Lying is NOT about having sex with people you've never met. You will never convince me that it is not about some girl cheating on Ryan (sorry).
- Set list, to the best of my remembrance (not in order): Ready to go; Better if you do; Tiny bit of Personal Jesus; Mona Lisa; Lying, Nine in the Afternoon; The Only Difference...; Camisado, Hurricane, Trade Mistakes; Green Gentlemen; New Perspective; Always, Let's Kill Tonight; The Calender; I write Sins; Memories, Time to Dance; I Believe in a Thing Called Love; Immigrant song (not all of) and Nearly Witches.

[Of course this gave me all the M.E feelings and I can barely get out of bed. But that's not too bad because I was prepared and it was TOTALLY WORTH IT]
