Accent Day!!!

I talked about this a bit on the repodding podcast - but that's Saturday, so I'll break it down for you. I've been informed that
paraka talks about me in today's podcast, but as of now I don't know what she said, so anyway...
Every podficcer has an accent; sometimes that accent matches that of the canon character, sometimes it doesn't. Every accent is special and brings something to the podfic, it represents the podficcer and reminds us just how diverse fandom can be. Come celebrate accents and learn more about them in podfic at
pod_aware on LJ or DW.
Podfic is FANTASTIC for experimentation!
I podfic in a fandom where the characters are all American. I am very much NOT American, I'd say I have a fairly obvious Southern English BBC accent - or what some people call Received Pronunciation. For Accent Day I wanted to experiment with reading a podfic in the accent of the characters. I chose to take an existing podfic because, I felt this was the best way as, a) I'd get a bit of help from listening to how
shiningartifact reads and b) if I fail and people think this version is unlistenable, I haven't ruined a fic people love and they can run over to
shiningartifact for comfort and reassurance. To make that easier for people, here is a link to that AMAZING version. I'm going to post a 'Straight' (!) repod version on repodding day. MULTIPLE VERSIONS are awesome people - embrace it!
DISCLAIMER: I AM ATTEMPTING A NORTH AMERICAN ACCENT. NO AMERICANS WERE HARMED DURING THE MAKING OF THIS PODFIC. NO OFFENCE IS MEANT. (Also, I am trying out my new mic, and I haven't worked out the kinks yet).

I am very interested in this being used to start off discussion. Does the American accent (attempt) make the story unlistenable, as it is too strained/bad/awkward ? Does it make you laugh? Do you like it? Do you like the repod aspect to it?
