Honestly, I think podficcing scenes are the only way to include podfic-as-art in BBs without significantly altering the format of BBs. It's just not fair to expect podficcers to make a full podfic of a fic that: 1) By definition is supposed to be long. 2) Often podficcers have no way of knowing how long a story is (word cound generally isn't included with summaries in claims posts) 3) Most BBs only give artists rough drafts to work from and authors can tweek/finish during the art period. 4) Art periods generally aren't that long.
So I'm really glad to see the precedent set in the rules of a BB. :)
And yeah, some podficcers will tackle the whole fic, or will post a scene for the due date but go back and finish the podfic later. But there's also going to be people who find a fic summary interested but are underwhelmed by the fic, and now they won't be obligated to force their way through it.
And good luck with pod_together, I'm still debating whether or not I should sign up or not. I don't want to leave myself overwhelmed. :S
